I guess that's quite possible Jane (I know little about the workings of computers, YAP can I'm sure say more). I think it may be an ISP problem at the ABRSM, as currently none of the site works, the main site, the forum, the online form, the lot.......

I can't get into New Grove either Ooh, neither can I. Is Grove access a perq of the MA? Yup and the Dip, you get access to a lot of OU online library resources. There are a host of journal articles etc and a great site with downloadable music. And I've now got my BL readers card for 3 years!

We get access to Grove through the ATHENS login. We also have a Naxos Music Library account - do you get that too? It's great - we can listen to the entire Naxos catalogue, plus a few other labels who are in on the deal too . I think I'm still too young to get into the British Library without a leter of recommendation .

Yes got the Naxos, but not actually tried listening...just tried it and there is a problem with Windows Media Player, hmmm is that just me or linked to the other internet-y probs we are having I wonder. I would have thought the BL would have let you in to do your PhD, regardless of age (isn't that discrimination!!!) Anyway let me know if they don't and I'll write you a note.

Far be it from me to start rumours and to be cynical...but as a weekend anti-troll tactic its a bit drastic don't you think? There are more guests on here than normal...

I think they have to register to get into the cafe area, but guests can read the other general music areas.

Hmmm... I wonder if some ISPs are down due to storms or something as KJ has more difficulties. (but don't tell mrb or he will call me a swot again!) I can't access the forum or my email. It's ok, I'll not tell mrB. Hope babyB is doing well.

Just heard on the local news that there was a power cut at about 1pm in Central London - just about when the forum went down. I think there's the explanation.......
