Hi - don't know if anyone can help me....am looking for a list of song tune openings to help identify intervals (to help in aural and sightsinging.) I know I've seen one somewhere but think it might have been on the AB forums. Problem is, I can't access the forums without safari continuing to crash - it allowed me just 30 seconds this morning! - can anyone please do a search for me? ? Pwetty please? I'm going to try installing firefox to access the forums, but don't want to do that until hubby's around in case something goes wrong on the computer.....and I wouldn't want that to happen as then I wouldn't be able to speak to anybody at all!!!!!!!!!

Hope these help in some way for now!

I've just had a look - am lousy at searching, mind you - but didn't come up with anything. The only one I can remember is that "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean" is the major sixth, and I remembered the perfect fourth with a song about dinosaurs... edit - beaten to it!

Thanks folks - I know some of them (had forgotten Twinkle Twinkle - thanks Nat!) - but you know that feeling you get when you know you've seen something somewhere and can't remember where? - I know I've seen a list for all the intervals, major and minor, including descending......thought it might have been the forums, but possibly not.....couldn't find it in any of my files. Thanks for trying anyway..

Augmented forths, in both directions, sound like sirens! Play them back and forth and you'll see! For the ones that don't have one - like major 6th below - get used to singing them in your head backwards to find what song they make - My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean.
Also, to add to the list: Major 2nds either way are the scales. Minor 2nds either way are chromatic scales. Major 3rd above - Oh when the saints go marching in. Minor 3rd above - Oh Canada. Minor 3rd below - Jesus loves me. Perfect 4th above - (Don't know name but, "Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind.......") That New Year's one! Perfect 4th below - the baseball theme song Minor 6th above - that Joseph song - the slow pretty one (if anyone knows the real name, feel free to help me out

Thanks della, I don't know if you're right or not, but it sounds good to me! (I haven't seen the movie, but my teacher sang the few words of the piece that I needed to get the interval). "Joseph, my something something..." That's all I needed, haha.
