thingy-a-doodle-who?
What have you lot done? I've just remembered I have a sterling set of animal impressions which I produce to the embarrassment of my family....the only one they ever ask for is the peathingy!
Thank goodness that the forum is all in text, is all I can say. ;D

Now, which should I practise first? Three sizes of cat, two of dog, plus some whining which I learned from the kids, three of sheep, which double as goats, the peathingy, a thingyerel (oh, bother the censor!), a piggie, a horse snorting but I can't whinny, a cow, a crow, a cuckoo and an owl. If the vocal chords are in the mood, also a seagull. Oh, and a random chirpy birdie.

Argh, stop making me laugh, it sends me into a fit of coughing... . Best I can do is a horse snarling, subject to my cheeks being sufficiently relaxed.

subject to my cheeks being sufficiently relaxed. This had me in fits of laughter! It just doesn't bear (bare?) thinking about! I used to have an address for a web-site that had sound-bites of animal noises in different languages around the globe e.g. Moo in English, becomes a very polite "Meuh" in French. I'll try to locate it - I seem to remember that the cantonese version of Hee Haw was quite inexplicable!

How on earth did they decide what the Esperanto versions should be, given how varied all the others are??

Oh I'm sure some eminent linguist somewhere spent weeks, months, years working it out!
