How are you getting on with this Suzy? What speed are you playing it at? I just did some practice with a metronome and can just about do the semiquavers at crotchet = 116 ish, but that makes the rest of the piece seem so slow in comparison with recordings I've heard...argh

Keep going at that speed and then take it up gradually to the speed you want .

Sorry I just want to be able to play it, and I'm getting stuck .

I'm not complaining about you wanting help ; I just think you're being a bit hard on yourself generally about not being able to learn things quickly....

I need to learn things quickly! I hate it when I keep struggling with a piece and get nowhere.

That looks something good to learn, definitely take some time though.
I really do think I'll struggle to find 3 grade 8 Trinity pieces I like and can do.

Even without having to do Bach? I'll have a rummage around, see what the Mendelssohn Scherzo is like.

Even without Bach! As much as I despise the AB, the Mozart and Chopin I really like, and I generally think they have better pieces.

Have been away for a week! Clinical genetics in Cardiff....fascinating. It would appear I could specialise in 'funny looking babies' - what joy Crotchet = 116! I'm going steady at crotchet = 96 and I'm still missing some of the jumps! *crawls back to Welsh hills*

I love the piece, I just can't play it, nor do it justice.
Don't smite!

I'm just enjoying playing it slowly I may have to do some serious work, but there's no point at the moment - I'm spending 5 out of 7 days away from the piano! The beginning sounds very grand now, my students were impressed this evening, even at 96!
