Just wondered if anyone had a recording of that fugue with the ornaments on the subject. None of the various different versions I've got for free from places on the internet have them, and it's always nice to hear what you're aiming for.

I'll see if I can cobble something together tomorrow; I've played that fugue a few times, not really studied it, but it might be better than nothing.

Trying to add in all these ornaments has taken me back a week or so in terms of fluency, but you were right - it makes the subject entrances very distinctive.

Great, glad you like the effect. Have you scribbled all over your score? I did Fugue 16 for my DipABRSM, have a look at the suggested articulation in the back. Took me a week to implement that after I bothered to read the notes : .

Trebor - I haven't forgotten but I went very busy very quickly last week and won't get chance this week. Ask me again some time week after that, I don't mind being reminded.

No problem YAP, I've been pretty busy the last few days anyway, and need to learn Grade 6 Theory (among other things) for the time being - so no rush.

We had a fortepiano at college that I rather enjoyed playing. It doesn't have the full-blooded tone of the modern piano, but playing it did give me a fresh aproach to articulation and dynamics, which when I swapped back to the Yamaha grand in the same practice room was intersting to experiment with, and produced some very fruitful results.
