Woo, we've just managed to get tickets for the two nights of the final of the Leeds International Piano Competition  . £13 each for each night, sitting behind the orchestra, and we got a night in a travelodge for £26 between us, which is a good price . Still some tickets left if anyone's interested. |

I'm going as well!!! Found out last week that my pupil's mum wants to take me again (she took me last time), so i'll be there somewhere on 22nd and 23rd as well, I won't find out my ticket numbers until early September when she arrives back from China but i'll keep you updated, I can't wait!!! |

Cool! I'm going to watch the first round monday and tuesday next week! Which travel lodge? - it seems a good deal. Everywhere in Leeds Centre is eith full or over £50 a night!!! If I stay in the UK til then I'd love to see the finals |

It's the one near Leeds train station. We booked it in July when the tickets first became available, I doubt there'd be a room for that price left now. And they're probably kicking themselves that they didn't just charge full price for all the rooms that night....

Just found out that I have to drive up on the 22nd from Lowestoft to Leeds in 4 hours because my pupil doesn't want to lose her full attendance record at school!!! We may not get there for the start so will have to go in during the interval  better than not going at all though |

Pupil has decided to have a half day off school so we're now travelling up on the train. Should get into Leeds at about 5.30pm so plenty of time to get the finals tonight and tomorrow, really looking forward to it now. Only problem is my pupils mum has to take her 2 year old as well and will have to wait outside!!! So I will be the large(ish) blonde lady with a 10 year old Chinese little girl sitting next to an empty seat ;D Hope you enjoy it YAP |

How did you all enjoy yourselves? We had a surprise visit from a Dutch harpsichordist and his wife, so haven't seen anything on the telly - was the outcome as expected?
