I have one coming up on Tuesday, with a cellist from Leeds uni. This is a reprise of the concert we did in Louth a few weeks ago - a Beethoven cello\piano sonata, a couple of solos from me and some 'finishers' from Jo and myself. Should be great fun.

Well done?? I am not ready for it in the slightest it asks for grade 6 and I am about a grade 2 clarinetist on a good day I have only been playing for about 4 1/2 months It is a community concert at the Liverpool Phil, I wanted to see if they would take me on sax but no sax parts so they have said I can come on clarinet and play what I can on the piece but I am going to stick out like a sore thumb

Quietly panicing about recital in September. Will I be performing to an empty hall, O dear I've still got the programme to write. My rehearsal with my accompanist went Ok last night. I've got another on Friday, and still got the Bliss to learn, and the rest to learn properly.
Hubby and accompanist thinks things sounded very good, but I'm wondering who they are trying to flatter.

Just excuse me I'm going through my pre-concert "its not going to be ready on time" and "nobody is going to be there" morose phase.

I've done too many to mention over the summer, but last Sunday I played in Laxey (a small village) at the opening of the newly restored Snaefell Wheel. It was originally a part of the mines about 95 years ago, but was then moved to Cornwall for a while, then left to rot in Wales. It's taken them about 3 years all in all to restore it, so not only does Laxey house the largest working water wheel in the world (the Lady Isabella), but it now harbours the second largest aswell (named the Lady Evelyn (AKA Snaefell Wheel)! Fascinating I know....... but they are big though!

The music has finally arrived for concert giving me two weeks to prepare and see if I can play it ... which is unlikely at this moment in time
