I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of them? they seem to make/sell cheap student models of woodwind and some brass. I am looking at buying instruments again...somebody needs to stop me, I am getting addicted

I know it is so hard though as I have still got a fair amount of last years loan and money saved from other things. Things just look so tempting like the soprano sax which is on sale in a shop I am going to visit at the weekend, and I am now thinking about having a go at the flute after a chat I had with my sax teacher at about 1am this morning

Yep, you're like me . Even though I have 2 saxes, 2 clarinets, a flute and 2 recorders, I still want 2 more saxes, another clarinet and another flute .

;D I only started playing in jan, you have had a lot more time to learn and acquire I am trying to refrain from getting anymore until I have mastered the ones I already have...but they look so tempting. I haven't got as many instruments yet but there is enough in the house: 2 sax's, 2 clarinets, 2/3 recorders, 5 guitars, drum kit, keyboard, and the all important 3 tin whistles Most of them aren't mine, only the saxes...I should probably be looking at getting myself a clarinet as I am actually learning that one

My brother did yeah, he can't play the stupid kit, he had a friend round. So he was messing around on the kit in his room and his friend had the guitar plugged in the amp .

My sister can just about play it, she has had a few lessons but still can't stand it, or being woken up by McFly on the guitar

It is cheap, and seems ok. My flute is old and naff but it serves its purpose for now, until I have a lot of money to buy a new one, so if you really just want to mess around with it then go for it!
The sound recording of it seems fine too.
Disclaimer: I am not a flute specialist!

;D you know more about them than I do. This is all because I have tried most other woodwind instruments albeit breifly apart from the flute, and have been told that it can be quite easy to pick up as it has similar fingerings to the sax etc and you can get it with covered holes which is great

Yeh, fingering is very similar. Embouchure is very different though, so it might take you a while to get used to that .

Hehe, it took me ages to get a sound out. Then I got a sound frequently, but could never play flute and clarinet right after one another, I always had to have a break. Now, I switch between the two fairly easily, tone is not always fab, but for what I need it for it's fine! 11 year old kids at my school can't tell whether my tone is naff or not, which is great .
