I am going to get a new mouthpiece, probably the Selmer C* as that is the best bet. But I want to get a ligature aswell. Do I just get a Rovner Dark Lig, or do I pay a bit extra and get something like a Vandoren Leather lig, or Do I get one of the fancy Hardly any contact ones?? Nat - Come Back

Are you planning on going and trying the mouthpiece? if so ask if you can try the ligatures to, see what one you like the best. I have a Selmer C* mouthpiece which is fab, and my ligature is a Vandoren Optimum ligature which is kinda cool as it has interchangable plates for different sounds. But they can be quite expensive (mine was a gift ).

No I was just planning on buying without trying, as there is no where close I can go

Thats a shame, maybe you could go somewhere over half-term? If not enjoy your window shopping at Sax.co.uk

I might organise a trip to sax.co.uk, then I can try out saxophones as well

I will be envious, that trip would be so much fun I am hoping to make it down to Howarths at some point before christmas...but sax.co.uk would be sooo much better

I've just bought a new ligature. I got a Rovner Light, and it's great. It's made such a huge difference, and I'm loving the V16 reeds. I tried the ZZ's, which were ok, but not really the sound I'm after. I'm yet to try the java's!!
I'm going to get my parents to buy me a new mouthpiece for my birthday in December. It's the only way I'm goign to be ablet o afford a new one right now!!

I have a Rovner, it rules, get it . I've tried my teachers' BG one and that's great but probably not for you just yet.

I'm loving the rovner! They don't get bent quite like the metal ones anyway!!! And they're fairly cheap at £18. I thought they'd be more than that

Yeah, the BG is quite expensive if I remember correctly.

I tried a BG for my clarinet before I bought a Rovner for that. I really didn't like it. Maybe it was just a slightly dodgy one, but I could hear buzzing!!! I didn't like ti!
