Am I allowed to name examiners? Oh well, i'm going to anyway!!! It's in a good light so shouldn't b a prob!!!
The examiner we have in a tthe mo, doing 8 days at our music centre, is Gareth Green. Anyone else had him? I just want to say he's the nicest examiner I've ever come across. I have about 20 pupils in for exams every term so have a fair exxperience of them now!!! he chats to them very openly and gives them time and space in the exam. I've had other nice examiners but they've often been patronising at the same time, but Mr Green isn't. He's sat in our staff room for the odd five minutes having a little chat, and met our cello teacher's 5 week old baby!!!!!
Why can't more of them be like this? He was running early one day so went into the waiting room and had a chat with the lad who was in for his exam next.
My only worry, is that I've often had nice examiners who then mark strictly!!!! My head of woodwind even commented on this to him!!!!!! whoops!!!

Gareth Green represents the best there is available for examining and adjudicating. He was the adjudicator I spent most time with when I accompanied the Bradly Youth Festival in Grimsby last November. He was simply fantastic. Warm, good-humoured, knowledgable. The kids loved him. Send him my best, please. Steve

I will do.
He's brilliant. I've got my lasst lot of kids with him today, though he's at our centre til tomorrow. He's been having conversations about the world cup and everythihng in their exams!!!!! I even managed to have a interesting conversation with him in his break yesterday where he cleared up some queries I had on how they marked specific things which was great.
Was he a fair marker when you met him?

Was he a fair marker when you met him? Yes. I did not always agree, but that is the nature of subjective marking. Plus, I was at the piano accompanying, and so was listening\watching for different things and less aware of the overall performance. Not surprised to hear he was chatting to the kids in the exam. The man can talk to international standards. Steve

Haha, he certainly can talk, and he has a very big laugh!!! Better than not having one at all!!!
Hopefully the marks will come back ok.
he said to say ppppo back...............followed by a hearty chuckle!!!
