Next year at uni some of the modules I'm taking include things like Debussy, Ravel, The 20th Century Symphony and Orchestration. Are there any useful books that have information about those that are handy to have? Money isn't really an issue so the cost doesn't matter, unless the books are all £50 each!!

If you can get a second-hand copy, "Anatomy of the Orchestra" by Norman del Mar is great for orchestration. Covers instrument ranges, characteristics and other practicalities (such as giving your oboists a chance to breathe).

Ok, cool.
I've just bought The Cambridge Companion Guides for Debussy and Ravel, so those two will give me a start.

I've bought Cambridge Companion Guides for Chopin and Piano in prep for diploma - holiday reading! They look really good. I've also just finished the Naxos book Chopin - Life and Works. It was really good - entertaining to read, informative and 2 full CDs of recordings to listen to while you read. I don't think they've done Debussy and Ravel yet, but I suspect they will expand their range fairly rapidly.
