Well...I did my best to talk through most of it in order that the others wouldn't hear too much, but I still heard, and it was much as expected. Toe-curling. He never actually fell apart completely, but there were SO many wrong notes and duff rhythms all over the place. The steward had a look of sympathy and consternation on her face, and seemed to be trying to help me keep the conversation going in the waiting room. He had gone deathly white when he realised that the candidates could be heard by the people on the other side of the door, and I actually felt really sorry for him in the end - and guilty, somehow. He had never really believed me that this couldn't be thrown together the night before. Maybe I should have been more forceful about that. This is always the tricky bit - however much we might say - well he will just have to get on with it - or - it will do him good if he actually fails - it is still real people we are dealing with who have real emotions and it is never easy coping with the fall out. Hope it all works out for the best Patricia.

Tomorrow is the day I expect the results, and I've actually had nightmares about the report. I've resigned myself to him failing, but I can't stand the thought of handing him a horrific report. Will let you know...

and I could not, for the life of me, remember what comodo meant, despite having looked it up a few days before. comodo like comode (toilet chair thingy), ie convenient, that's how I remember it ;D I had a keyboard grade 2 in this session with LCM and he completely mucked up on the day, had broken his arm the month before and that obviously affected his practice. Forgot the keyboard stand so had to use an ironing board which wobbled! He got 70/100 which was a relief Good luck with the results Dulciana

I hope this works because I'm having problems again, so I'll post this first to check before I launch off on a spiel.

Well - I owe Steve a tenner... Not only did he get a merit, but he got 82% and you will never believe me again if I say I'm worried about a pupil in an exam. But this is utterly ridiculous. A Grade 2 got 83%, which is about what I expected, and she should be pleased, but her mark is totally belittled by his - she heard him play, and it's not fair for her to feel that she was only worth one more mark. Will post details in a new reply.

Even worse, this clown will expect to repeat this success-without-effort for grade 3. He will fail eventually, but you have some pain to suffer before then. ;D Be phlegmatic, D. After all, if the world were properly ordered then teenagers would not be able to exist; think of all the entertainment we sould miss then. ;D

Serenade - Taken faster than you could manage. Try to play with a steady pulse - 16/20 Entertainer (simplified) - Initially more fluent and you entered into the spirit quite well. Again, hesitant moments. ( ) - 18/20!!!!!! (Why bother practising at all...)

Viva - 7/7 SR - 8/10 Aural - 8/8
(This was Grade 3, by the way.) I'd never have given him these marks for these sections either. I must say I'm put off the London College by this. Last time I had a candidate who played infinitely better, who passed by three marks. What ever happened to consistency? My wee Step One got 92, which was well deserved, but if it was in proportion to the former, she should have got 110%!
