Just noticed this on Saxy's sig - quote from Dvorak.
OK, so if Mozart is sunshine, then WHO is dirty great stormclouds, thundering and lightning and torrential downpours?
Personally, I find Dvorak more sunny than Mozart!
My rainclouds would have to be Strauss - I LOATHE Waltzes! They're like a boring long grey nothingness sort of November day!

Anybody belonging to the English Wet period of the early 20th century - Vaughn-Williams, Finzi, Rowley et al. They just make me want to cry.

Don't know why, but Sibelius' music always makes me feel chilly! Its something to do with what he gets the strings to do - all very eerie, chilly, windswept.....
