I was wondering if anyone has ever been on one? say something along the lines of a 'summer school'. If so how did you find the experience? was it beneficial to your playing?

I've been on 2 with the C&C Intermediate Wind Band It's recommended! It was such a fab experience and I met loads of new people. We had the most amazing time ever in rehearsals and at the concert, they also put a jazz band on the lawn for us one night which was just magical! I think 17/18 hours of playing over 3 days was definetely beneficial - my tone improved loads! Also learnt to sit up straight for very, very long periods of time (our woodwind tutor was pretty mad on that!), and of course any extra experience of sight reading/performance etc. is good. Our conductor also taught us lots of new warm up exercises and things & it was really interesting to learn about the wind band as a whole and to play in such a large group which isn't something I get to do very often! If you get the chance, take it
