I just thought I'd share my first week of my school holidays from!! As much as I love teaching my little sprogs, I'm loving the break from them too! It started last Friday night with a night out with work friends getting very very drunk ;D ;D The weekend passed me by a bit due to Friday night Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I went swimming, and pottered about a bit. Tuesday night it was a friend birthday so we went dog racing!!! I've never been before and it was great fun! Today I met up with a friend and we went walking over in Alderley Edge and then I came home and played cheesy songs from my new '100 No.1 hits' for sax book!!! ;D Tomorrow I'm off to Wales for a hen weekend!! SHould be interesting. I will report back on Sunday (if I'm capable!)

Sounds good. Have a good weekend. Holidays start tomorrow for me, so I will hopefully be getting very drunk to celebrate.

;D Sounds like a good way to spend the holiday ;D Since I broke up, I have spent the time meeting my sister for lunch when she's working, going to Portugal with one of my best friends , sleeping ( ), and cleaning the house ready for prospective buyers, and will soon be going to switzerland... oh joy

Due to the fact that autumn starts in August up here, we get holidays from the end of June - so I'm just coming to the end of my three weeks. We've been to Sussex and back, I've done a heap of laundry, then a musical break in the middle of nowhere, then I've done a heap of laundry, and now a heap of relatives are visiting, but since they're staying in a guest house, at least that won't be another heap of laundry. I just have to move my compost heap tomorrow.

I blame music - I mean, honestly, if there's a choice between ironing and playing Shostakovich on the piano....well, there just isn't any competition - piano wins EVERYTIME. So my family are blissfully musical and we live in crumpled clothes.

I've got the little Debenham's at home for the school holidays starting from the end of today! Getting horribly drunk isn't an option when looking after two small children, so its a matter of planning activities they'll enjoy, like tie-dye (got to get the t-shirts for that one) Pond dipping, mini-beast hunts, lunch around friends, taking part in the "Reading Mission", Pottery at the local National Trust Property. And making a scrap book about all the things they've enjoyed.
The its a cold beer in the evening, before keeping my teaching going and doing my editing work!
Some holiday!
Highlights: an overnight trip to Venice (no kids) Cropredy Festival (no kids) Wells- a family holiday!

Yeah the summer holiday kind of loses it's shine when it means kids at home all day (though I only have one!) However if she wasn't at home I would probably only be wasting my time on the forums all day so at least I will have to do something productive with my time! ;D
