Looks absolutely freezing! That's a pretty big fish - never seen one that big before! What do you do with them after you catch them?

The nature of the surroundings would be enough for me! Especially with the trees changing colour. I'd happily sit quietly in the boat and pour the tea from the flask! What type of fish is it?

Why does the fish look more cheerful than the fisherman? It does look beautiful, as does the setting, but I need sticks and string on boats to make them go, and if sailing on the sea, I'm afraid a mackerel spinner is about the limit of my fishing talents.

The fish is a pike of aboout 12 lb. Pike are not regarded as a "eating fish" in the UK, but is a delicacty in France / Germany. I often keep a small one for the BBQ but UK angling etiquet (quitre rightly) says that big fish must be released. I did, however, kill a smaler one (~6 lb) which is to cooked by a friend of ours and eaten at a dinner party which he and his wife will host! Never been to their place but accoprding to my piano tuner (who is also a fishing buddy) he and his wife have a lovely house with a fantastic Bechstein piano!! Here's another view showing the autumn scenery a bit better!!
