Any recommendations for decent pieces?
I've now seen the Beethoven and the Debussy. Not keen on the Debussy.

The Beethoven and Mozart are both lovely. The Mendelssohn Scherzo is great fun. The Debussy has some awkward corners but has a brilliant finish. The Bridge Valse is ok; not riveting but would do at a pinch. I bet the Strayhorn is fun, although I don't know it. I know the Liszt is beautiful because Duncan used to play it, but I don't have a copy and can't remember how it goes. Those are the pieces I would be considering for a balanced programme with any of mine, plus the Bach G major Partita for those with a taste for the Baroque. Only a massochist does a Prelude and Fuge in a grade 8 exam. ;D Steve

If I use Trinity for grade 8, I will not be playing Bach . I'll have a go at the Beethoven, and although I like the Mozart, it's harder than the Mozart I'm currently murdering.

I've had a quick look at the repertoire list for trinity, and i was pretty disappointed. where is the schumann? chopin? brahms? if i remember rightly, there wasn't even any moz. Surely a wider selection wouldn't have hurt?

There is a Mozart on the grade 8. I agree about Chopin though.
