Eh? That was a conversation stopper! Seriously, though - I'd play Bach a lot more often if I felt my audience appreciated it more. (I usually play at events organised by self and another teacher, mainly for (and including) the pupils, with a few guest performers, but I've found most of Bach's keyboard music to be too high-brow for many of the parents - sadly - who can. on occasions, be fairly forthright in their comments!

Then I suggest you either learn German so you say what you mean properly or post in a language I don't understand.
Thank goodness I'm leaving for a week.

Any thoughts on something for me to play at next concert? (See a few posts back.) It can't be too long, and has to appeal to non-Bach-afficionados.

How about Mendelssohn's Rondo Capriccioso ? If they find Bach too dry, that may be be wet enough for them...

I couldn't get into that enough myself... I had a look today at Chopin's Grande Valse Brillante, which would go down well, but the chances of me learning it by December are kinda slim...

Just wondering if I should trail out the last movement of the Italian Concerto in a last ditch attempt to make them think that Bach isn't all "dry".
I also wonder if my family could face listening to me practising it again, as it wasn't an overnight job the last time...I learnt it for a licentiate diploma that I never got round to doing.
