This is a request from someone who is sick of buying books and who can't be bothered to go to the music shop to take a sneeky look! So this is in the hope that somebody out there has already bought the TG Piano Scales and Arpeggios book, volume one, and wouldn't mind helping.
What is the format of the Grade 1 broken chords? The syllabus says they're triplets and gives a minimum pace required, but that full details are in the scale book...

Ok then...I guess I'll just buy the book! Sorry I couldn't be more help. If it'sany consolation I'm going to have to buy the book too. I like to keep pupil's options open when preparing for exams. Some suit TG's exams other ABRSM.

Of course, if you can wait until about 2 weeks before the exam and Steve finally concludes, "Better do something about those scales" then you can have the info for free ;D

You probably have the book by now Dulciana, but I've only just read this thread. They are the same pattern notes and fingering as ABRSM grade 1 chords. F major - ascending, RH, F A C (1,3, 5), A C F, (1,2,5) C F A, (1,3,5) F (3) - all quavers, last note dotted crotchet. Descending same rhythm, A, F, C, (5, 3, 1) F, C, A, (5 3 1) C, A, F, (5 3 1) C (5). For some strange reason, the LH has a time signature of 6/8 but is without bar-lines, the RH is written the same way but has no time signature.

No, I don't have the book yet, and am eternally grateful! (Like the little green aliens in Toy Story.)

How come it says on the inside front cover of the Grade 1 book that they're one octave? Just spotted that!

Neither have mine - for that reason! Actually, I only have one TG Grade 1 at the minute, and everything else is in hand except these. We're pottering through Christmas stuff at the minute. What pieces have you done with yours? Mine has done the Aria, Moody Boogie and Study in A minor. The Aria took the longest to manage for some reason!

Same as yours and some are playing Menuet in A minor. One has chosen Bigfoot, Flatfoot.... Can't remember what type of foot, ;D but she can play it really well!
