Had my first piano lesson in almost 6 months today . Yay wooo . Glad to hear your getting back to playing the best instrument . Seriously though, it's good that you're playing again . I'm doing scales Sssssh, Steve might hear . The pieces I'm doing are: Bach 2 part Invention No.8, Prokofiev Valse from Musiques D'Enfants and Haydn Finale from Sonata in D major (Hob XVI:24). Bach . I'm actually thinking of getting that Prokofiev (it's an alternative grade 6 piece) as the selection of list C pieces in the book is of the usual standard of enjoyability . Is it good ?

Bach...yes...shocking isn't it, I think I'm just getting made to play it and learn it and then hopefully be done with him forever . Yeh the Prokofiev is nice. I don't think it's too hard, the last section is pretty much similar to the first page, with a bit of variety in the left hand. Second page crosses hands but it's not too bad I don't think.

I'd recommend the Prokofiev, I've got a couple of grade 6's doing it and thoroughly enjoying it. The book is a useful one to have as well as they all regularly turn up from time to tiime, I'm on my 3rd copy as it is one that disappears and doesn't come back.
