Well - you may have read that we burnt my Grade 5 pupil's music when the boiler was broken (still is). It looks like I've burnt my copy of the above as well. I can't even put my hands on the cd I have, as it's packed away in the depths of some unidentified box for moving house, so I don't know the opus number of the one I'm looking for. Now this could - and should - wait till I've moved and have less on the agenda to attend to, but who cares? I'm sending an order to the local music shop today and want to include this. The copy I had was from the internet, and really annoyed me anyway, as I was forever footering with lots of seperate sheets (it's kinda long). This is what I've got to go on: I THINK it's in Eb major - or maybe it's Db, and starts with a series of repeated notes on either the tonic or the dominant - they're dotted quavers and semiquavers. I only dabbled at this for a while, but want to ressurect it. Does anybody know the Waltz I'm talking about (I think there are three or four Valses Brillantes ) and do you know the opus number?

Hi Dulci, Is it the Opus 18 one, dedicated to Mademoiselle Laura Horsford? Starts on a Bflat minim, then 2 Bflat dotted quavers (played twice), thenstill all on Bflat, crtichet, 2 quavers, crotchet, 2 quavers , crotchet, 2 quavers - we're in 3/4, and it says Vivo?? The Bflat is the dominant - its in E flat major, with a central passage in Dflat major???
I think this the only Grande Valse Brilliante which starts in this way...
