Anybody know anyone who would like to play the occasional bit of continuo for a recorder/ possibly as many as three recorders, grade 8-ish*? Edinburgh musician keen to expand horizons. Has to be impermeable to high squeaks and be able to cope with interesting harpsichord temperaments. Come to think of it, I don't know how good I am at that anyway... *that's the whistle players rather than a gold standard for cellists!

Have you asked around music shops and music establishments in your area?

Not shops, no - that is a good point. Tried word of mouth, being linked to the University and all that, and also tried music-teaching contacts. It's just that it would be fun to extend the range of music a bit - I'm playing mainly solos, some duets and so far one trio, but a cello or bass viol would really boost the sound, and I could then try to recruit some fiddles....and probably talk myself out of a part, eventually.
