Thanks for the vote of confidence on my taste of studies!!!! haha!!!
All my kids get 40 modern studies for Clarinet, as I prefer it to 80 graded studies. I have a couple of saxes on a James Rae one too......................whichever one it is for grade 4 and above. Don't have many sax pupils at the mo though. I WANT MORE!!! And seeing as our music service has just bought 16 new ones over the summer, I think I should get them all playing it!!!

Slavonic Dance is the grade 4 sax one, although is on grade 5 syllabus for clarinet. Grade 5 sax study is Ambiguity, which I'm getting all my grade 5 sax pupils doing. Don't really like the grade 5 studies that much, although the Rae is good, oh and China Doll by Andy Scott is fab .

YAY, Ambiguity, I played that one in preparation for my Grade 5. I hated at first and thought what the place where satan lives is this, but when i could play it up to speed i found it enjoyable

It doesn't sound too good when you play it slow, and the change in accidentals is a bit to get your fingers around, but it sounds great when you play it really fast.

Kflute has a brother called Pete who composes and publishes his music with my sax teachers' company. I played one of his pieces for my recital at uni last year .
