Don't know why i posted here, cause no-one uses the Brass section but here goes!! My trombone teacher didn't show up at schol for my lesson on wednesday. Then today I received a letter, and it contained an exam form for me to fill in. At the the bottom i noticed that the form had to be back to the Head of the Music Centre tommorow. I don't know whether or not I should go for my Grade 5 trombone which will will be in literally a month. I haven't really looked at the pieces let alone practiced them, apart from one. I think I will be able to manage the scales as there are only about 12. Also the exam date is either on the 19th or 20th October and I am in Lodon watching Spamalot all day on the 19th !!! Should I go for it or put it off until the next exam session P.S My teacher will be annoyed if i do not do the exam HELP !!!! Ben (there wasn't a trombone smilie)

Well if you can't make the exam day then that isn't really a good start...
You're right that scales should be fine because there are hardly any, how are you on the pieces? Could you learn them quickly? If you think you can then go for it, but if there's a lot of doubt then don't bother.

I know the B piece pretty well and can get through it. The A piece, well i havent even decided what piece i like and the C piece seem alright but havent played it in lesson yet
I think the best option would be no to do it, and just let my teacher down.
ARGHHHH lol

Ehup Ben I am a great believer in 'just in time' where exam prep is concerned, but even I would panic at the thought of a student trying to take one with so little preparation. There is no actual guarantee your teacher will turn up next week either. This sounds like put-it-off-until-next-time to me.

Thanks for you replies I think I will put it off for now. And maybe save myself £41 if I fail.
