Well done Hoxie . Actually, now you have some pieces polished up, any chance of a recording or two for the forum recordings site? . Just out of interest - what's involved in the AVCM? Is it a recital only, or are there other things, like scales and sight reading?

Well done Hoxie . Actually, now you have some pieces polished up, any chance of a recording or two for the forum recordings site? . Might take you up on that one! I'll have a run through some stuff and see if I can do any half decent recordings! 3 pieces, one from each of lists A-C, questions about the pieces and backgrounds of composers etc, musicianship tests (equivalent of the aural), sightreading and about a billion-and-one different scale and arpeggio patterns...the grade 8 list looks easy now! (feel free to quote me on that in however many months when I start moaning!) The syllabus is avaliable online (as Nat discovered when I gave her the website address!) I'll just go and look for the address for it! hoxie xxx EDIT: www.vcmexams.com/The full syllabus for all solo instruments is here, afraid you have to scroll through to find the diplomas as they don't have the syllabus split up :s EDIT 2: ok, no it's not! they don't seem to have different URL's for the pages, so you can find it if you go to Music, Solo and then the Online request for at the bottom of the page (in the last sentence) then select the instruments
