To be honest, the British do get behind their national sides. You've got fans paying 400 quid just to be in the stadium, millions watching on TV at home or in public places - it's because of all the attention that everything they do gets analysed and discussed and judged. Because everyone wants England to do well, they get disappointed if they don't. But they're still 'behind them' and want them to win.
And yes, Lampard is pretty poor at the moment.

Fair enough, they'll pay that, but in my opinion all they do is moan. I expect disappointment if we lose or play really really badly but even when we win they're trying to pick holes here there and everywhere.
I guess it's the press at fault, building up unnecessary hype.
Heyho that's life.

What a having intercourse mental game. 4 players sent off. On the plus side, no Deco when Portugal play us and with a whole bunch of players on Yellows they may be a bit more tentative.

I'm going to miss it GAH!!!!!
But hmm, I thought Holland might have edged Portugal, but obviously not.
I think if we play well though we have a chance against Portugal.

Portable radio? Useful all the time except when you're actually playing (unless you are *really* good).

Is the concert in England? Because everyone else will be feeling the same way (and I imagine the turnout will be rather low).

It is in England. The audience will be about 5,000 regardless of the match I think.

Yeah, some place about 40 mins away. I know nothing about it really, apart from some school swing bands are playing, alongside a Blues Brothers tribute band and The Commitments. There is also a firework display and other stuff so it's a 2pm- 11pm kinda thing so will be tiring. But, yeah, apparantly an audience of around that, match or not, so it will be good.

Yea, I guess it isn't a massive deal. I'll tape it, watch the highlights and will be kept updated. I hope there might be a screen there.

Take a radio - there really is nothing like Allan Green (sp) talking cr*p to make you appreciate your surroundings! He's accompanied me through many rehearsals that dared run on European Cup nights!

Hehe Suzy . I've just had a text from my old woodwind teacher at school saying that my head of music wants to know if I am still going on Saturday because I will miss the footy! I replied with yes but I am not impressed and as long as I can keep my phone with me at all times to get frequent updates!!! They're quite surprised I am still going I think! I guess I could have not gone to the concert but I would feel so guilty then!!
