A couple of years ago it used to be a lively place to learn about musical queries of all sorts. They really are going overboard with the censoring though. It's not much use apologising after the event. Damage has been done.
I may go and watch Japan score another goal.......................

Special note to Steve - please do keep posting anecdotes about your various pupils and lessons - its always so encouraging!! Ok. Here goes; happened earlier. Kate is 15. Wonderful child, talented, stunningly clever, great personality, the lot. Opinionated too, as you would expect - says she introduces herself to strangers as, "Hi, I'm Kate. I'm 15 and I know everything." I have this way of putting my hand over one of those of a pupil to stop them playing when I want to interrupt. Kate and I have been delving into one of Pam Wedgewood's 'After Hours' books. I was trying out a piece that I had not played before, and was having one of my can't-sight-read-anything-for-toffee evenings. By heck, but I can be bad when these occur. After a few seconds patient listening, Kate laid her hand over mine exactly as I do and said, "Never mind Steve, you are having one of your can't-sight-read-anything-for-toffee evenings. Let me do it, I will do it better." And she did, the so-and-so. Got extra chocs for that, did Kate ;D ;D ;D Always welcome, pj. You and Dr Suzy both - no charge to my friends. Steve

;D I like it. How does she manage the Big Bad World? My older one is just making his first ventures into Secondary Education, and has noticed that the bright spark in his class is already heading for a squelching from the others because they've noticed she's very clever.

Perhaps any further discussion of this sort could be taken to the wine bar? This would save certain 'guests' nosying at threads just to go back and gossip. If anyone doesn't have the password, and wants access then let me know and I'll sort it. Rosemary and Frankie I don't think you have it do you? Just send me a PM.

Good thinking, young lady. I have started off a thread until YAP gets around to moving this one. Steve

I didn't say they have to, and if they have "better things" to do then so be it.

I didn't say they have to, and if they have "better things" to do then so be it. That is true, meepmeep. It is odd, though, how often there are 'quests' visiting this forum. I can't believe they got her by googling 'alternative forum' or some-such ;D Steve

Miss Moose - I tried that password you told me before, but it said I didn't have permission to go to the Wine Bar. At nearly 47 years young (even tho I feel and look like 97 today! ), I think I should be allowed in - pretty please! - and I didn't practise last night either, I just surfed more on the interweb thingymajig, so there!

Why should I let you in if you haven't practised!!? ;D You need to be added to the list, and I can't do that, only YAP, so I'll tell him what changes to make to the list and hopefully it'll be sorted soon.

;D I like it. How does she manage the Big Bad World? My older one is just making his first ventures into Secondary Education, and has noticed that the bright spark in his class is already heading for a squelching from the others because they've noticed she's very clever. Kate has the Big Bad World well sussed. Ok, so we live in a rural area here, so we are not talking deepest inner city. Nevertheless: She recently dyed her hair post box red, then she had her belly button pierced, so she is known as 'hard' anyway ;D She is frighteningly clever and uses words to huge effect. The odd yobbo that is not terrified by her reputation is usually flattened by her tongue. Just occasionally, the Big Bad World penetrates these defences. Poor Big Bad World. No wimp, is our Kate. She fetches it such a slap that its head rings for days afterwards ;D Big Bad World concludes that life is too short to mix it with Kate and slinks away to find something else to do. What a girl ;D Steve
