Well you won't believe what I got from abrown today!
QUOTE: In the Forum Rules it states that:
'Multiple accounts Forum members are asked to register only one user account. Registering multiple accounts is not allowed. Sharing accounts is not allowed. Forums members registering more than one user profile risk having all their accounts suspended.'
We have reason to believe that you have multiple profiles on this forum. This is not allowed and this account has been premoderated because of this.
I presume you would rather keep your older and more recognised profile. UNQUOTE
So I have PMed abrown telling it to completely eradicate all the usernames/accounts it thinks I have! I sever all links with that silly place!

I do. Several. I don't use any of them because I have no interest in contributing. I only set them up to show that I could. Whom did I show? Me. I was bored at the time. One weekend, I might trash one of them to post a, "This is what actually happened to SteveHopwood" thread.

Sad thing is, I had recently had a very fruitful PM conversation with another poster about Scarlatti, and now, thanks to the over-zealous mods, I have no way of contacting the other person. Pity - we had a lot in common, and were learning a lot from each other. But I'm obviously subversive (?) so TOP mods don't want me around. They've blocked my account and removed all my recent (banal, ordinary, non-provocative, innocent) posts. Why? Heaven knows.

I should have known they'd lost it when they removed the photo of MrBouffant's pew! That says it all!

Sad thing is, I had recently had a very fruitful PM conversation with another poster about Scarlatti Well, don't do it again. You are not supposed to have fruitful conversations in TOP. I refer you to a recent answer about censors and intelligent life forms. Seriously, my fun poking apart, this is very sad. The censors have gone from worse to ridiculous to moronic. All the exam candidates the AB is loosing to TG, LCM, RS et al through their lunatic intransigence and refusal to listen to teachers\candidates\parents\intelligent-life-forms must be leaving their employees with so little to do that they iinvade the forums and vent their bored spleen there. If you want to continue your fruitful pm's with this poster, your solution is to adopt a new identity. That can take time, so let me know if you want one of mine. Steve

One weekend, I might trash one of them to post a, "This is what actually happened to SteveHopwood" thread. I do wish you were back there in some form or another. I read the forums for a long time before I contributed, and things there have definitely changed recently. I'm not really talking about the moderators actions here - it's the quality of the questions and answers. People are posting for the sake of posting (of course I'd never be guilty of theat myself... ) and answers are often very flippant. It's great just to have a chat and share personal experiences from time to time, but there's very little proper debate these days on actual music. As in how to approach playing it and teaching it! Anything that starts off with potential usually ends up dwindling away and doesn't get down to specifics in the way that that old trills thread did, for instance, when there was a lot of very interesting discussion between you and YAP. Few posters are really thinking very deeply any more about what they say, and very often one offering bears no relation to the next. The moaning about parents in the teachers' forum does have its place, I suppose, but it's all been said now! I'd much rather have some proper debate on musical technique and interpretation, but these threads seem to dry up very quickly. Is no one interested!!??
