In my saxophone lesson on Thursday, we spent time getting about 4 or so reeds prepared for my recital and numbered them in order of which was best etc. I've just gone through my pieces and all the reeds sound so awful, far too bright and ARGH, I don't know if it's just me or what, but I wanted to scream. *short rant over* H..h.h.he..e.e...ll..p.p.p.p..p.

Are you playing in the room in which you'll be for the recital, though? It could just be the acoustics of where you are just now.* Don't worry, I'm sure the right reeds will have been chosen. Good luck for your recital, too. *plus - you are of course going to have an audience, and they act the same way as soft furnishings, to dampen down the sound. So sound bright now, and be happy! It'll be fine.

I'm at home, so no I am not playing in the same room, but I've sounded far better that this in the same room I'm currently playing in.
I get to choose if I have an audience, and going by my latest pitiful attempts at playing my pieces, I will not be having one.

I would say that you'll be fine but you won't believe me, so I'll just wish you good luck.

Mind you, I've still got chilly feet about a forthcoming wee test, so you do have my sympathy. What are they testing your wee for?

What are they testing your wee for? ;D Maybe it's the sheer athleticism with which those alternative fingerings are produced that makes them suspicious . Good luck to you Nat, have confidence (erm...borrow mine ), you'll be fine . It's normal to be nervous, and yes, that includes (well that's normal for me anyway...). You can do it though . Good luck to you too anacrusis , did you manage to arrange harpsichord accompaniment in the end?

Just need to make sure my husband doesn't go for one of the meaner temperaments when tuning, as the whistles are in equal! Go, Princess Moose! And have fun, too.

Does that mean that they'll be visiting you or do you have to move the harpsichord? Nat: if it's any consollation I usually feel a lot better after I have been sick if I'm nervous: I don't feel sick so much any more . Remember you can do it, I can say that with confidence now as I've heard you play .
