Have to agree - England have had 65% of the possession so far... Yes....figures are easily abtainable Anyway Treebs at least we won. Got time to get better, I hope we thrash Sweden on Tues and T+T beat Paraguay just for a laugh. Not sure if I'd rather Germany or Ecuador.

Apparantly Rooney is going to start with Owen on Tuesday. Good, that's what I hoped would happen.
I have to go pub on my own on Tuesday to watch match because brother is working ..gah..ah well.

Yay, thank goodness for that. Ecuador it is, and hopefully a better route to the final, although Owen out is going to be a big blow.
I hate all the bloody negativity I hear everywhere. I'd say 99.9% of the fans watching could do nowhere near as good as the England team so they should quite frankly shut up. We played a lot better than the 2 previous games, we kept possession better, and passed better and looked more in control. Yes the defence was sloppy on occasions, esp for the 2nd goal, but it's Sweden for goodness sake, they seem to be the side we just can't beat. Now who cares we "only" drew, we're through and have the better route to the final.
Rant over.

Yes, but 99.9% of the England fans aren't professional footballers. It's irrelevant whether or not we could play better - they're supposed to able to. Yes, we played better but you can't see us getting far in the competition on that form. *hides from Nat*

No, and I think there is too much hype about us getting to the final and winning. The press come out with it every single year, and everyone gets there hopes up and then when we don't win 6-0 like Argentina everyone complains. We should be able to play better that's fair enough, but in my opinion, in the group stage, the results and getting through are the most important things. Amazing performances can come in the second round and onwards if we get that far. The players will know they can and should play better, and will probably be annoyed with themselves so they don't need the whole bloody country getting on their backs as well. For some strange reason people must thing it helps, and it probably makes them feel better, but it really doesn't help at all.
Call me stupid, but that's just what I think, maybe I'm a fool for trying to take positives out of things for once.

I agree with all of that. It's just a bit disappointing (because of all the hype) when we don't play so well.

I've just caught the same ghastly knee injury about three times whilst channel-hopping. *shudders* Still not a footie fan, I'm afraid, but am sorry to see that sort of thing happening.
